Discover one of the oldest sports clubs in Portugal:
Welcome to Clube Nacional de Natação, founded on 25 August 1919 by a group of dissidents from the Lisbon Naval Club.
The president of the Club, Carlos Alberto Figueira, guided us through the installations of one of the leading and older sports clubs in Portugal’s capital where water, training, and social life coexist in perfect harmony.

In 1921, the Club was represented for the first time in a sporting competition, at a swimming festival organised by the Lisbon Delegation of the Portuguese League of Clubs, in the pool at Casa Pia.
They were the pioneers in teaching "Salvamento". That's why their motto has always been: "Knowing how to swim isn't enough: Being able to rescue is a must".

Committed to caring for the health of its members for more than a century, the club has two indoor pools (25 m and 17 m) with UV treatment. This made the project really special since its a technology that improves water quality and reduces the use of chemicals, gas and electric usage.

For those who enjoy outdoor sport, the club offers 7 padel courts (3 covered), perfect for training, competing, or learning with personalized lessons. After your session, the bar with terrace invites you to gather, celebrate victories, and keep the team spirit going.

Efficient climate control management and optimized energy use across the facilities reinforce a more responsible approach to sport. With an installation that covers the 89,91% of their consumption, having a particularly high match during daytime usage.

At Clube Nacional de Natação, sport is also culture and community: teaching programs for children, support for competition, healthy habits, and an environment that inspires consistency.
