A Youdera Story
Beyond Megawatts: Behind URSA’s Sustainable Transformation
February, 2026

How strategic collaboration enabled one of 2025’s largest solar roof installations without pausing production for a single second.

A Shared Vision
At Youdera, we believe the energy transition isn't just about installing panels; it’s about helping companies fulfill their purpose. URSA, a key player within the Etex Group, has spent years dedicated to a fundamental mission: insulating our homes to make them energy-efficient.
However, at their plant in El Pla de Santa Maria (Tarragona), they decided to go a step further. It wasn't enough to manufacture products for energy efficiency; they wanted to embody that sustainability themselves.
The vision was clear: transform their vast rooftops into a clean energy engine. Yet, in a continuous-process industry like URSA’s, the desire to innovate faced an immovable reality: the factory could not stop.
The Challenge: Innovation "Open-Heart Surgery" style
The challenge URSA presented to us was far from simple. The project required deploying 3.76 MW of power and executing a comprehensive structural reform of the rooftops, all while integrating complex medium-voltage equipment.
The catch? Beneath those roofs, heavy machinery continued to produce mineral wool at full capacity.
From an engineering perspective, this was akin to performing open-heart surgery while the patient is running a marathon. The margin for error was non-existent. Any coordination failure would not only impact the solar installation but could disrupt the very heart of our client's business.
The Human Factor: One Team, Three Pillars
The success of this story lies not in the hardware, but in the people. To turn URSA's ambition into reality, we formed an alliance built on trust and precision:
URSA (The Vision): A committed and demanding client who paved the way, demonstrating that sustainability is a non-negotiable priority for the Etex Group.
Plasfoc (The Local Muscle): Our installation partner, whose on-ground technical execution was flawless.
Youdera (The Orchestrator): We brought the investment, the PPA management, and the "Swiss watch" methodology needed to ensure every piece fit perfectly.
As Ramón Ros, General Manager of URSA, summarized: "We are very satisfied to go hand in hand with a company as experienced as Youdera." These words are the true measure of the project’s success: the client’s peace of mind.
The Result: A Solar Giant in Tarragona
Thanks to this synergy, the story has a brilliant ending. Today, the URSA plant operates with 6,572 solar modules that will generate over 5,000 MWh annually.
But beyond the impressive figures, we celebrate how they were achieved:
Zero Interruptions: Production remained at 100% throughout the entire construction phase.
On Time and On Budget: Rigorous adherence to deadlines and costs.
Real Impact: URSA will avoid approximately 1,300 tons of CO2 emissions per year—equivalent to powering 1,500 homes.
Building the Future Together
This installation proves that when technical expertise meets a clear corporate vision, no operational barrier can stop decarbonization. URSA is already leading the way toward the Etex Group's 2030 goals, and at Youdera, we are proud to have been the chosen travel companions to write this chapter of their history.
Is your company ready to write its own sustainability story? At Youdera, we are ready to listen.
